Financial Institutions

Foster Pepper's full-service financial institutions practice is one of the strongest in the Pacific Northwest. We represent numerous large and small state and federally chartered commercial banks, savings associations, savings banks, and local branches of foreign banks, as well as a variety of non-bank lenders such as pension plans, life insurance companies, mortgage companies, and conduits. We serve as general counsel to some of our clients and as special counsel on specific projects for others. We assist these institutions in transactions throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationwide. Our lawyers thoroughly understand the business and regulatory environment of financial institutions and the services they provide.

Foster Pepper has particular experience in general business services, loan structuring and documentation, regulatory compliance, debt restructuring and workouts, litigation, director representation, securities, new bank organization, mergers and acquisitions, and troubled institutions.

In addition, we are able to draw, as needed, on the experience of other practice groups including creditor's rights, business, securities, real estate, and litigation. Many of our financial institutions lawyers also practice in one or more of these areas.
