We provide a full range of legal services for U.S. companies involved in foreign transactions as well as for foreign companies doing business in the United States. We frequently represent our domestic clients on their international acquisitions and joint ventures, counseling on such matters as entity and tax structuring, trade regulation, foreign employment matters, and related acquisition and post-closing operational issues. We have particular experience in international tax laws, customs and export regulations, trade and antitrust issues, international dispute resolution, and a variety of other regulatory requirements, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FIRPTA, and Exon-Florio reviews.
Because a successful international practice requires strong local connections, we have been a member of Interlaw since 1991. Interlaw is a unique association of approximately 60 independent law firms located in over 100 major cities around the world. We are proud to be a member representing the American Pacific Northwest. Interlaw members, all of whom pursue the highest standards of professional excellence and have a strong orientation toward commercial law, share an international practice but retain their independence.
As a member of Interlaw, we can provide our clients with access to outstanding legal advice almost anywhere it is needed in the commercial world. Additionally, on behalf of clients, members of Interlaw are able to assist with introductions and making necessary contacts in the business community or the government. Often they help clients obtain other professional assistance, particularly with financial and property matters.
