Law360 recently covered Foster Garvey’s new Declared Name and Declared Pronouns Policy, an initiative developed by the firm’s Opportunity & Progress Council. The policy ensures the usage of employees’ correct names and pronouns by attorneys and staff in all aspects of their work and firm media.

The legal industry publication reports, “Along with the new pronoun policy, Foster Garvey has begun a partnership with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, a nonprofit focused on ending discrimination based on gender identity, to help its attorneys and staff become better allies for transgender colleagues and community members.”

Foster Garvey Co-Chair Diana Shukis was quoted saying, “We believe everyone has the right to be who they are. Establishing our policy ensures that this belief becomes further ingrained in our firm culture.”
