Overview
Melia’s practice focuses on advising hospitality, travel, liquor and cannabis clients on transactional, regulatory and operational matters.
Melia represents businesses and organizations across the hospitality industry in the negotiation of a wide range of contracts, including group and event sales agreements, vendor services and consulting agreements, sales and marketing agreements, spa and restaurant third-party management agreements, and corporate rate agreements.
Her clients include owners, operators of hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators and restaurants. She regularly advises her hospitality clients in matters involving general operations, sales and marketing, legal issues and dispute resolution. Melia also assists her firm’s nationwide cannabis and alcoholic beverage clients with navigating state licensing issues and regulatory requirements.
Her passion for the hospitality industry traces back to her roots and continues to the present day, with grandparents who were founders and operators of a winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and great grandparents who were hotel developers in Seattle and Hawaii. She enjoys helping hospitality businesses thrive, as they help enrich people’s experiences and lives, by bringing togetherness and exposing people to new cuisines, places and cultures.
