Courtney DauszFoster Garvey is pleased to welcome public finance attorney Courtney L. Dausz as Principal in its Portland office. Courtney joins the firm's nationally recognized Municipal, Health & Housing practice, deepening the team’s bench in Oregon and strengthening the firm's commitment to serving the unique needs of state and local governments.

With nearly two decades of experience representing a wide range of municipalities and nonprofit organizations, Courtney has established herself as a trusted advisor to cities, counties, school districts, special districts and conduit borrowers.

Courtney regularly acts as bond and disclosure counsel, as well as underwriter’s counsel, providing strategic guidance on tax-exempt borrowings. Additionally, she advises numerous 501(c)(3) nonprofit clients as borrower’s counsel, exhibiting her focus on representation that positively impacts the community.

Courtney joins the firm from Mersereau Shannon LLP, Oregon’s second oldest law firm and a venerated municipal finance boutique, where she built her high-caliber practice and reputation as a leading public finance attorney.

Courtney is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, where she obtained her J.D. in 2006. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from Montana State University in 2002.

She is an active member of several public finance and municipal organizations, including the National Association of Bond Lawyers, Special Districts Association of Oregon, Oregon Association of School Business Officials, Women in Public Finance and the Oregon Government Finance Officers Association.
